Research Overview

We are interested in using metagenomics and applied microbiology (i.e. targeted gene sequencing, metagenomic sequencing, whole genome sequencing, transcriptomics, microarray, subtractive hybridization, etc.) to better understand the species-species interaction and how microbial communities play roles in different environmental niches. Currently, we have been obtaining fundings, and supports from leading scientists to help establish microbiome databases representing Thailand’s marine and terrestrial ecosystems, Thais’ skin and oral cavities, and The Antarctica around the Great Wall Station. We are also combining culture-dependent and culture-independent approaches to finding sustainable strategies for coastal and coral restoration, organic agriculture, and public health product. Together, the researches help resolve environmental and public health problems.
