Research Interest

Next-generation sequencing (NGS) data analysis, genome-wide association studies (GWAS), simulations to evaluate methods in assessing statistical significance in association studies and in NGS pipeline.

Research Overview

My current research interests involve the analysis of NGS data to elucidate answers including 1) the characteristics of replication-independent endogenous double-strand breaks (RIND-EDSBs) in yeast; 2) the role of decreased RIND-EDSBs in decreasing viability of aging yeast cells; 3) validating salt-responsive genes in local Thai rice varieties through phylogenetic tree and 4) identifying the underlying genes in families with Mendelian diseases. The first two projects are in collaboration with Prof. Dr. Apiwat Mutirangura; the third is in collaboration with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Supachitra Chadchawan and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Teerapong Buaboocha and the last project is in collaboration with Prof. Vorasuk Shotelersuk.  I also participate with Dr. Chadchawan and Dr. Buaboocha in a GWAS for identifying variants associated with salinity tolerance of local Thai rice.
