Research Overview

Identification of essential genes important for diseases or pathogens is a great value. Thus, my research interest is mainly to develop and apply computational methods to find essential genes for an organism. Novel algorithms are developed based on mathematical techniques to model and analyze cellular mechanisms such as metabolic processes, signal transductions, and protein-protein interaction networks in several organisms; both prokaryote and eukaryote. Therefore, I involved in several research projects. Machine learning technique has been designed to analyze metabolic network, gene expression data, genomic and transcriptomic data of E.coli and Salmonella. A computational framework for drug development to reveal potential drug targets in Plasmodium has been developed for malaria treatment. Furthermore, a graph-based technique has been recently applied to detect genes related to inflammatory bowel disease in human. In plant, such as rice, one of the most important plant in Thailand, has been analyzed in its co-expression network, genomic and phenotypic data.
